The countdown to the end of the year is here! If you haven’t finished your holiday gift shopping just yet, now is the perfect time to consider something really special—for them and for you! At Packouz Jewelers, we see a lot of couples that like to buy matching Rolex watches as a symbol of their bond. If you’re considering a matching timepiece set as a glorious gift to give (and receive) this year, have a look at some of our favorite his and hers Rolex pairings available right now.
His & Hers Rolex Datejust Watches
With its round case, date window on the dial, and protruding magnification lens on the crystal, the Datejust is one of Rolex’s most recognizable models. However, although instantly identifiable, the Datejust is also the most varied Rolex collection with a host of case sizes, material options, dial choices and bracelet styles to choose from.
You could go for identical looking his and hers Rolex Datejust timepieces—just in different sizes—down to the metal, dial, and bracelet design. Alternatively, you could opt for similar styles but still personalize it according to each of your tastes. I particularly like the new stainless steel and white gold Datejust 41 for him and the new white gold and diamond Datejust 31 for her.
His & Hers Rolex Day-Date Watches
Simply known as the Rolex President, the Day-Date watch has been a symbol of success and achievement since its inception in the 1950’s. Characterized by the pair of calendar windows on the dial to indicate the day of the week and the date of the month, the Rolex Day-Date is exclusively made in precious metals such as gold or platinum. The most iconic Rolex President is without a doubt, the yellow gold versions.
Officially, the Day-Date collection is categorized as a men’s watch collection. However, since it is available in two sizes, 36 mm and 40 mm, the smaller version has been a popular choice for women for decades. A yellow gold Day-Date 40 for him and a matching yellow gold Day-Date 36 for her would make the ultimate Rolex pairing to gift this holiday season.
His & Hers Rolex Yacht-Master Watches
If you’re a couple that prefers sportier watches to dressier timepieces, then the Rolex Yacht-Master collection is the best place to look for a matching set. In fact, the Yacht-Master is the only Rolex Professional range available in two sizes.
Rolex offers the nautical-inspired Yacht-Master watch with a choice of a 40-mm case or a 37-mm case, making it the ideal luxury sports watch lineup to pick one for him and one for her. Furthermore, the Yacht-Master collection is also diverse with an assortment of metals, materials, dials, and bracelets to decide upon. The Everose gold (Rolex’s patented rose gold alloy) versions of the Yacht-Master are especially attractive, whether in full gold or mixed with steel for a two-tone look. And again, you can choose to go with identical models in different sizes or mix and match to make your preferred set.
If you’re in the Portland area this season, please drop by our Packouz Jewelers showroom where we can help you pick out the perfect festive Rolex gift for you and a matching Rolex for them. Happy holidays!
As an official Rolex retailer, Packouz Jewelers carries a wide selection of contemporary Rolex timepieces. As many of you enjoy exploring far corners of the globe by air, land, and sea, here are my recommendations for the best Rolex watches to travel with.
Rolex GMT-Master II
When commercial jetliners began flying further distances in the mid-20th century, Pan Am airlines requested Rolex to develop a professional watch for their pilots to use on the job. So the Swiss watch company obliged and unveiled the GMT-Master pilot’s watch in 1955. The watch provided a way for aviators to easily read two time zones simultaneously thanks to a clever combination of a rotating 24-hour bezel and a 24-hour hand on the dial.
Today, the GMT-Master II watches—which now allow wearers to keep track of three time zones—are enjoyed by an audience well beyond professional aviators and are especially appreciated by those who travel often. Just this year, Rolex released three brand new GMT-Master watches in Oystersteel, Everose gold, and two-tone Everose gold and steel, each with ultra-modern Cerachrom ceramic bezels. Depending on your personal style, any of these three new-generation Rolex GMT-Master II watches would be a great addition to your traveling gear.
Rolex Explorer II
First conceived as a watch for cave and polar explorers, the Rolex Explorer II made its debut in 1971. Boasting a slew of practical features such as a highly luminescent dial, a large arrow-tipped 24-hour hand, and a fixed 24-hour bezel, the Explorer II allowed wearers to differentiate between day and night hours when looking at the sky wasn’t an option.
The current iteration of the Explorer II—exclusively available in Oystersteel and with a choice of a white or black dial—is one of the more robust sports watches in the Rolex lineup. The contemporary Explorer II is especially practical for globetrotting adventurers since the extra 24-hour hand can point to another time zone on the 24-hour engraved bezel.
The newest watch collection to join the Rolex catalog, the Sky-Dweller has only been around since 2012. Along with being the newest Rolex watch, the Sky-Dweller is also one of the brand’s most complex, providing a technically intricate but easy-to-use annual calendar feature.
Once glance at the dial will tell you the local time, a second time zone, the date, and the month. Plus, as an annual calendar, the Sky-Dweller only requires one hands-on adjustment per year—when February turns into March. You can choose from yellow gold, white gold, Everose gold, Oystersteel, and Rolesor gold and steel versions of the Sky-Dweller.
Rolex Cellini Dual Time
Finally, if you’re looking for a supremely elegant Rolex watch that also displays two time zones, then the Cellini Dual Time may be just what you need.
Offered in white or Everose gold, both fitted with handsome leather straps, the Cellini Dual Time watches include stunning guilloche dials that house the center hands to display the local time, along with a subdial to indicate a secondary time zone complete with a day/night aperture.

Everose Gold Rolex Daytona Rainbow
Earlier this year, Rolex unveiled a new version of their famed Rainbow Daytona chronographs. While the first two editions were made in 18k yellow gold and 18k white gold, the newest edition to join the collection is fashioned from warm 18k Everose gold. For those who may not know, Everose is Rolex’s patented rose gold alloy that promises to never fade.
Showing off the skills of Rolex’s master jewelers are the dizzying array of baguette-cut sapphires set into the bezel in a gradient configuration. Colorful sapphires are also used on the black dial, standing in for traditional hour markers. Along with the sapphires, there’s also diamond pavé on the case and shimmering pink Gold Crystal registers on the dial. No matter at what angle you look at this glamorous Rolex watch, it’s a joyful sparkling splendor.
Everose Gold Rolex Pearlmaster 39
Not just reserved for sportier watches, Everose gold looks especially good on Rolex dress watches. Take for example this dazzling Rolex Everose Gold Pearlmaster 39 adorned with plenty of lavish diamonds.
From the 39mm Oyster case to the Roman numeral dial to the curvy Pearlmaster link bracelet, this beauty shines bright with gleaming diamonds everywhere. Especially gorgeous is the diamond-set bezel topping off this ultra-glamorous Rolex watch. Even champion skier Lindsay Vonn agrees as she proudly wears a simliar version on on her wrist.
White Gold Rolex Day-Date 36 Cherry
While I do love diamonds and other gems, it’s not always necessary to have precious stones on a high-end timepiece to make it glamorous. Just take a look at this chic white gold Day-Date 36 in the “Cherry” colorway.
The familiar 36mm Oyster case is built in 18k white gold and accented with Rolex’s characteristic fluted bezel, also in white gold. Contrasting with the opulent white metal are the rich cherry red leather strap and dial. And on that dial we see the famous pair of windows indicating the day and the date. As the weather cools down, this is the ideal Rolex watch to add to your fall/winter wardrobe.
Yellow Gold Rolex Datejust 31
Also released earlier this year, Rolex released a trio of Datejust 31 watches to their collection. My favorite among the three is this yellow gold Rolex Datejust 31 with a glorious green malachite dial. In addition to adding a pop of color to the luxurious yellow gold watch, the use of malachite lends an intriguing texture element too. Plus, it sets the perfect background for the yellow gold and diamond Roman VI and IX numerals on the dial.
The new yellow gold Datejust 31 is fitted with the popular President style bracelet, also in full yellow gold, completing the style of this ultra-glamorous Rolex watch.
As always, we look forward to seeing you at our Rolex boutique in Portland to help you find you next luxury watch
In the art of film-making, it’s the smallest details that bring a world to life. Only when every detail is just right can the audience be truly immersed. Rolex is proud to recognize the art and craft of film-making, and to have played a part in some of cinema’s most iconic moments.
Rolex is introducing new versions of its Cellini Time, Cellini Date and Cellini Dual Time in 18ct white or Everose gold in a 39 mm case. The new Cellini Time models feature a redesigned white lacquer dial with 12 elongated applique hour markers. The Cellini Date acquires a blue dial and strap, and the Cellini Dual Time range is expanded by a version with a brown dial and strap.
New Rolex Cellini Time
The essence of a timeless classic, the Cellini Time simply displays the hours, minutes and seconds, as if nothing but the present were of importance.
New Rolex Cellini Date Blue
The Cellini Date adds a date display suffused with elegance, tradition and poetry, showing on a single dial the current day, the days gone by and the days to come.
New Rolex Cellini Dual Time Chocolate
The Cellini Dual Time, with its simultaneous display of the time here and the time elsewhere, grants its wearers the gift of temporal ubiquity.
All Cellini models are covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015. This exclusive designation testifies that the watches have successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own criteria, which exceed watchmaking norms and standards.
Rolex is introducing a new version of its Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona in 904L steel, with a monobloc Cerachrom bezel, developed and patented by Rolex, in black ceramic. This latest evolution is a blend of high technology and sleek aesthetics, and pays tribute to the heritage of this legendary chronograph. The black bezel is reminiscent of the 1965 model that was fitted with a black Plexiglas bezel insert. The new Cosmograph Daytona carries the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015, which ensures singular performance on the wrist.
Created by Rolex in 1963, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona is a watch born to race. It has established an extraordinary track record in the world of motor sport thanks to its reliability and performance. Known simply as the “Daytona”, the watch has risen to the rank of an icon as one of the best known chronographs in the world.
The Cosmograph Daytona is equipped with calibre 4130, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Its architecture, a composite of Rolex technology, was completely re-engineered: the number of components for the chronograph function was reduced significantly, thereby enhancing its reliability. The robust chronograph is engaged by a mechanism with a column wheel and vertical clutch, allowing an instantaneous and extremely precise start. The oscillator, the true heart of the watch, has a blue Parachrom hairspring patented and manufactured by Rolex in an exclusive alloy. Insensitive to magnetic fields, the Parachrom hairspring offers great stability in the face of temperature variations and remains up to 10 times more precise than a traditional hairspring in case of shocks. It features a Rolex overcoil, ensuring its regularity in any position. Calibre 4130 is equipped with a self-winding module featuring a Perpetual rotor and offers a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.
The aesthetics of the Oyster Perpetual models set them apart as symbols of universal and classic style. They embody timeless form and function, firmly rooted in the pioneering origins of Rolex. The simplicity of an original.
